Favorite Markets

Need to know where to go to get access to a certain work comp carrier?  Tired of searching other sites for hours only to find generic nonsense posted by company marketing reps that give no specific information?

How many times have you heard…”send us a full submission and we’ll take a look at it…”  only to be categorically denied after hours, maybe even weeks worth of work?  Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just know who was interested BEFORE we waste everyone’s time?

Search no longer.  Using the power of modern technology, our goal is to quickly synthesize and present relevant market critiques and information for sales people, written by sales people that actually use them.

AmTrust

This market has been aggressively pricing for the last several years and have gobbled up competitors Tower Group and Republic Underwriters. Their underwriting appetite is similar to most of the preferred channels and they have on large caveat – all of their artisan classes have to be written through their wholly owned MGA Builders & Tradesman Insurance Services, another acquisition in recent years. If you don’t have a direct appointment, BTIS is an obvious choice if you write contractor business. Robert Moreno Insurance Services is also a wholesaler who offers AmTrust as a market, for all of your non-contractor business, if you need help getting access.

AIG

This market has worked its way out of the small market for the past almost decade. Often, their classes have minimum premiums at $10k which eliminate a lot of smaller prospects. You can use them for tougher cases that Hartford, Travelers, and the rest of the standard markets won’t touch, but their pricing is going to be on the higher side for most classes. Wholesalers include 5STar Wholesale, which is now part of Crump, RT Specialty are some of the more knowledgeable and quick to respond wholesalers that can help you place business with this market, they also have other markets as well.
